Project: T Levels Web-Application
Role: Interaction Designer
I was responsible for designing the experience for ESFA’s T Levels service.
Background
ESFA were launching a new qualification named ‘T Levels’ and needed to provide a service for awarding organisations to administer their courses, upload student assessments and results, and deliver certificates.
Approach
I worked in an agile team with a user researcher, copywriter, developers and testers to deliver an interaction design for this service. I produced prototypes in Gov.UK Prototype kit following the Gov.UK design system.
I ran collaborative design sessions with the agile team and end users to create flows and designs that took onboard ideas from all parties. This engagement method led to joint ownership and excitement across the team.
I participated in (and often led) the ‘show and tells’ to demonstrate the prototypes, final code and elicit any new requirements.
Although accessibility is built into the gov.uk component libraries, I still performed an accessibility audit on the test code to ensure it met WCAG2.0 AA.
The following screenshots are examples of the pages I designed using Gov.UK design system.
Results
My contract expired before I was able to see the launch of the designs, but user research showed that it could be used by the intended audience with no training.
